From an early age, Ashley demonstrated a deep passion for the arts, finding in creativity both a means of self-expression and a space to hone her craft. That passion carried her from being a self-taught high-school graduate to a brief stint at NSCAD University (2009–2011), and ultimately into a sustained, 15-plus-year career as a professional artist and graphic designer.

With every passion comes a cost—at least, this has been Ashley’s experience as she navigates the complex relationship between her mental health and her creative life. Depression and anxiety have often stood in the way of her ambitions, leaving behind a quiet trail of unfinished projects, abandoned ideas, stalled plans, and promises she wished she could keep. Yet she remains committed to rewriting this narrative, working steadily toward healing, consistency, and a creative practice that can truly sustain her.

If you have a creative aspiration or a project in need of an artistic touch, feel free to reach out to Ashley. She’d be happy to sit down with you, explore your ideas, and either take on the work herself or connect you with talented local artists who can help bring your vision to life.

Other meaningful ways to support a struggling artist include purchasing their artwork or supporting them through platforms like Patreon.

The acrylics “Ashley Grenstone creates often emphasize this stark, emotive line-work which contrasts open, empty spacesmeant to pull the viewer’s eye, filling in these gaps with their own imagination
